Jurrien Timber has been spotted at Ajax for their friendly against FC Den Bosch on Saturday, but wasn't involved with the squad at all. It comes as the defender is preparing a move away from the Eredivisie side in the coming days, with a switch to Arsenal currently lined up.
The Netherlands international is in his final two years of his contract at Ajax, with a lack of Champions League football next season after a disappointing third-placed finish in the previous campaign. The 22-year-old had been linked with a switch to Manchester United, but it seems as though a move to the Emirates Stadium is likely.
"Will I stay with Ajax anyway? I’m not sure, I can’t say that," the young defender told the media a few weeks ago. "I'm not in talks with Ajax now. My agent had a good talk a few times, but it's not like we're talking about anything right now."
That appears to have changed since as reports state that a full agreement has been reached with Ajax in a move worth roughly £40million. Timber was claimed to have undergone his medical at London Colney over the past few days ahead of the proposed transfer.

With that now seemingly complete, a trip back to the Netherlands to watch Ajax was on the cards as his current side drew 2-2 in a friendly with Den Bosch. The Dutch international looks set to be the second or third signing of the summer as Kai Havertz has already been confirmed.
Declan Rice could be announced first or second to Timber's deal, with the West Ham midfielder readying a club-record £105million switch. With his medical set to be complete soon, there could be yet another two deals completed by Arsenal ahead of a huge season.
