Jurrien Timber's brother, Shamier, has all but confirmed the Dutchman's £40million transfer to Arsenal from Ajax with a post on social media. The 22-year-old defender has completed a medical with the Gunners this weekend and is set to be announced as an Arsenal player next week.
Declan Rice is also on the verge of completing a £105million transfer to the Emirates Stadium next week after completing a two-part medical over the weekend. Timber and Rice will become the second and third signings of the summer transfer window after Kai Havertz became the first arrival in a £65million move from Chelsea.
Mikel Arteta is wasting little time in bolstering his squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign as the Gunners prepare for a return to the Champions League. The Arsenal boss wanted to add reinforcements to the spine of his squad as he looks to go one step further next year and win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City.
In a post on Instagram, Timber's brother revealed a picture of the Dutch defender's Ajax leaving party ahead of his move to Arsenal. The picture shown the 22-year-old wearing an Arsenal shirt with the message: "Jurrien's goodbye party! See you in the streets of London."
Timber will provide quality cover at centre-back and right-back for the likes of William Saliba, Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes. His versatility and ability on the ball are key reasons why Arteta wanted the Dutchman at the Emirates Stadium and Timber is convinced a move to the Gunners is the perfect next step of his career.

According to Dutch journalist Johan Inan, Timber and Ajax agreed on a release clause when he extended his contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena last year. After missing out on the Eredivise title last season, Timber will now prepare for life in the Premier League and be a smart addition for the Gunners.
