Jurgen Klopp rules out Liverpool signing another midfielder as Jude Bellingham links discussed

Jurgen Klopp has claimed Liverpool will not sign another midfielder in the summer transfer window despite reports linking the club with Jude Bellingham.

Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez have reinforced the Reds’ attack along with the arrival of defender Calvin Ramsay, replacing the sold trio of Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Neco Williams.

But Klopp, 55, does not expect any movement in the market for a new midfielder.

“No. I can say that,” he told reporters. “I don't think something will happen in midfield, but you never know. If somebody comes to you and says, ‘I want to go’.

“Nobody came to me but if that happens then we have to talk. But if the situation stays like it is, then tell me why [I should sign someone]? I do not understand.

“People told me about this discussion but the last thing that would have crossed my mind is that we have to do this.”

On Bellingham, Klopp refused to entertain the idea of a move for the Borussia Dortmund star.

“He's not on the market, so that's the first problem with that player,” he continued. “Well, the only problem with that player!”
