Jurgen Klopp has again dismissed Liverpool's prospects of snatching an unlikely top-four finish but insists he is 'happy' with the team's current 'direction'. The Reds racked up a fifth straight victory on Wednesday night with a narrow 1-0 win over Fulham at Anfield.
Mo Salah scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot to lift Liverpool to within four points of fourth-placed Manchester United, having played two games more. Klopp's side now trail Newcastle by six points, but could halve this gap to Eddie Howe's side when they host Brentford on Saturday evening.
The Magpies remain in the box seat to qualify for the Champions League next season, and their superior goal difference means two wins from their final fixtures would almost certainly see off Liverpool's charge. Having previously dismissed his side's chances of overhauling either Newcastle United or Manchester United, Klopp was again asked on the top-four race after the victory over Fulham.

Asked if a top-four finish was realistic, he told BBC Sport: "No. I don't feel it like that but it means nothing. It's about probabilities. If Newcastle and Manchester United win all their games, we have no chance.
"If Brighton win all their games, they are ahead of us. That's the situation. We just have to win our games and see where it takes us.
"At the moment I'm happy with our direction. We just have to keep going and in the end we'll look at the table and take what we can get."
