  • The extensive squad selection is designed as an audition process ahead of Euro 2028, allowing Klopp to evaluate unproven talent such as Felix Keidel and Younes Ebnoutalib alongside established figures.
  • Key players including Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz are expected to be limited to a maximum of two appearances, while high-profile figures such as World Cup top scorer Deniz Undav and winger Leroy Sané have been left out entirely.
  • The tactical overhaul comes after Germany experienced a disappointing World Cup campaign under Julian Nagelsmann, suffering an early round-of-32 defeat to Paraguay following a shaky group stage.
  • Germany's congested schedule will see them open their Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands on 24 September, followed by two matches against Greece and a fixture against Serbia by 4 October.
