Jurgen Klopp is expected to bring back a popular member of staff with Chris Rohrbeck returning to the medical department ahead of Liverpool 's final three matches of the season.
According to The Athletic, Rohrbeck's return to Anfield is imminent as Klopp drives the Reds' quadruple push, with the Premier League and Champions League still up for grabs. The German physio worked closely with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Djik before his departure in 2020.
The source adds Rohrbeck's return has been welcomed by the Liverpool squad as they try and get most of their star players fit for the remainder of the campaign. Rohrbeck moved to the Reds from Mainz in 2017 and spent three years at the club before returning to his native Germany.
His first task could be to get the likes of Salah fit for the run-in. The Egyptian limped off in the 32nd minute of the FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon, appearing to hold his groin. Although Salah confirmed after the game he was feeling "fine", there are some doubts he may not be ready for their trip to Southampton on Tuesday.
Despite Salah's absence, Liverpool went on to lift the FA Cup for the first time since 2006 as they beat Chelsea on penalties. The two teams could not be separated in a 0-0 draw after extra-time, but the Reds came out on top for the second time against the Blues in a penalty shootout this season, with Kostas Tsimikas scoring the decisive kick.
They face Saints in midweek before taking on Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season. Liverpool sit four points behind Manchester City in the race for the title, but could move to within a point if they beat Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.

After the conclusion of the domestic campaign, the Reds have a six-day wait until the Champions League final, where they take on Real Madrid on Saturday, May 28. They will be sweating on the fitness of Fabinho for that game, with the midfielder battling to recover from a thigh issue.
The Athletic also reported Klopp decided to bring Rohrbeck back to the club after Fabinho was injured in the win over Aston Villa last week. The Brazilian international sat out of the FA Cup final.
Meanwhile, Van Djik was substituted at the end of regular time against Chelsea after feeling a twinge in his knee. He and Salah may well miss the trip to St Mary's Stadium and Rohrbeck could be vital to get the duo back to full fitness.
