A popular Lanarkshire dinosaur trail has been hailed a roaring success after thousands flocked to see the giant beasts over the summer.
Jurassic Lanark has come to an end for this year after running for seven weeks in the town.
Many locals have commented on their dino-mite experience as organisers Discover Lanark say they're delighted with lots of positive feedback.
The trail invited families to hunt down the ancient creatures once again as locals and visitors alike were guaranteed a close encounter of a very frightening kind.
People across the country and beyond attended the free event, and over 7000 trail maps were handed out to visitors young and old.
It ran from June 24 to last weekend, August 14, and showcased a variety of dinosaurs including a spectacular Spinosaurus, a vicious Allosaurus grappling with two fierce Raptors, and a beady-eyed Pterosaur protecting its hatching eggs.
A feedback survey told that 94 per cent of respondents rated Jurassic Lanark "very good", with feedback on social media proving equally positive.
One visitor said: “We have had the most Dino-tastic summer. Thank you again for all the wonderful experiences in Lanark over the summer.”
And another added: “My wee grandson loved it…thank you so much. Our wee one is away home telling everyone that Lanark is brilliant.”
A third remarked: “Had great fun day. It was awesome. Hope you do it next year.”
“Did this yesterday with the kids and it was fab", told a fourth happy visitor.
"The town centre shops have really gone all out decorating their shops with dinosaurs. Anyone with keen dinosaur fans, this is a must do. Did I also mention its FREE to do.
"Thank you Discover Lanark for putting on a great event.”
This year marked the second consecutive year for Jurassic Lanark after returning by popular demand from the 2021 event's success.
It received generous sponsorship from Border Biscuits which enabled the inclusion of new attractions including additional animatronic dinosaurs and weekend appearances by baby puppet dinosaurs, Titch and Nibbles, and crowd favourite Fergus, the friendly T-Rex.
A prize draw for a Bumper Border Biscuits Bundle also drew an impressive total of 1800 entrants.
Graeme McLeish, chairman of Discover Lanark told Lanarkshire Live : “It’s been a great fun seven weeks, we’re planning to make Lanark THE dinosaur destination for 2023.”
