Fantastic Four has found its Silver Surfer with Julia Garner confirmed to play the classic character. The upcoming film, directed by Matt Shakman, features a star-studded cast including Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, the movie is rumored to be set in the 1960s, the era of the Fantastic Four's comic book debut by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
The script for the film is being penned by Eric Pearson, known for his work on Black Widow and Thor: Ragnarok. The Silver Surfer, first introduced in Fantastic Four No. 48 as the herald of Galactus, will be portrayed by Julia Garner as a different version named Shalla-Bal, who was the lover of the original Surfer, Norrin Radd.
