Barcelona star Jules Kounde could be on the move this summer despite his starring role in the Catalan giants La Liga win. The 24-year-old only joined Barca last summer from Sevilla after snubbing a move to Chelsea, but new reports in Spain suggest an exit is possible ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Playing the majority of the season at right-back has seen Kounde score one goal while also grabbing six assists from 38 appearances. Of those games played, 17 have come at centre-back with his versatility clearly a big attribute in his game that Mikel Arteta would love.
The Gunners are hoping to bolster their defensive depth this summer with Marc Guehi, Edmond Tapsoba and Mohamed Simakan just a few of their targets.

Xavi admission
Barcelona boss Xavi delivered a fresh update on the future of Jules Kounde, revealing the intricacies of a meeting between the two.
He told the media: "I spoke with Koundé and I was clear with him. I know there are a lot of stories — but the player left the meeting happy and same for me. There are no problems. The conversation has been clear, no problem and no issues.”
Kounde exit wish explained
Although Jules Kounde had a prominent role in Barcelona's La Liga triumph, the French defender may leave the club this summer, and his reasons for wanting an exit look to have been revealed.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Kounde is 'willing to leave' the Catalonia club this summer after a number of 'unfilled promises' from Xavi.
Barcelona stance
Barcelona director Mateu Alemany offered a brief response regarding the multiple reports linking Jules Kounde with an exit. He said: "We’re going to resolve internal situations internally."
Chelsea to reignite interest
Jules Kounde was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer and the club were in advanced talks with Sevilla for the France international. However, Barcelona managed to overcome their financial restrictions and hijack the deal.
An exit from the Spanish champions being possible this summer could alert Chelsea to reignite their interest from 12 months ago, although the Blues are now well-stocked up defensively.
