JPMorgan Chase has invested more than $5 billion in companies supporting U.S. national security and industrial capacity, committing roughly half its planned decade-long investment budget in the program's first year.
The pace could prompt the country's largest bank to expand its original $10 billion commitment, co-President Doug Petno told CNBC. The investments form part of JPMorgan's Security and Resiliency Initiative, launched last October amid concerns about America's dependence on foreign manufacturing and critical supplies.
