Josie Gibson in 'advanced' I'm A Celebrity talks with whopping fee for jungle stay

Josie Gibson could be heading into the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle this winter, according to sources at the ITV show. The This Morning presenter, who has been praised while hosting the show recently, may be bringing a slice of Bristol to the camp following Clifton resident Carol Vorderman's stint in the first ever series of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.

Mum-of-one Josie, who is from Yate and lives in Bristol with her son, Reggie James, is reportedly in "advanced talks" to appear on the popular Australia-filmed reality show, with a big fee allegedly being waved in front of her nose. Josie is said to be hoping to further her TV career, having initially found fame in the Big Brother House back in 2010.

Reports suggest that Josie could make £100,000 from her rumoured jungle stay, with the series still several months away from its usual November air date. It is thought that Josie has the potential to thrive in the jungle, having taken on plenty of challenges and facing her fears during her daytime TV segments, including rollercoaster rides and Via Ferrata, which is similar to Go Ape!, but up the side of a mountain.

A source claimed to The Sun: "I’m A Celeb producers have begun negotiations with Josie’s team to try and lure her with a £100,000 contract. Talks are at an advanced stage.

"Josie has been a fan of the series for many years and is interested and looking at the bigger picture of her TV career. The stint could propel her into the mainstream and land her bigger gigs."

However, ITV told The Mirror that any names being suggested for this year's I'm A Celeb line-up are pure speculation at this stage. The rumours come following Josie's appearance alongside Holly Willoughby on the This Morning sofa last week, as Holly made her long-awaited return to the daytime TV show.

As last Monday morning's (June 5) instalment of This Morning kicked off, a "shaken" Holly clutched Josie's hand as she asked how their viewers were feeling in the wake of Phillip Schofield's exit. Holly, who has been a presenter on This Morning since 2009, took aim at Phil during her pre-planned speech, in which she made reference to Phil allegedly denying reports of the affair to her when they first surfaced.

Josie comforted Holly after she said her bit, hugging her as she reassured her: "All we can do now is be the family that we are."

Following Holly's return to This Morning, Eamonn Holmes, who worked on the show for 15 years, praised Josie. "The star of the show yesterday, for me, was Josie Gibson," he said on his GB News show last week, before adding: "It's lovely to hear a West Country accent, isn't it?"
