Josh Warrington paid the price for his heavy metal tactics against Kiko Martinez as the Leeds warrior suffered a fractured jaw during his dramatic stoppage win.
Warrington set a ferocious pace from the first bell to drop the world champion in the opening round. And he barely let up in front of his home fans before the fight was stopped in the seventh session.
He was later taken to hospital with a suspected fractured jaw and broken hand and promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed the former by posting an X-ray on social media. Warrington will now need to recover before he sets his sights on finally giving his loyal supporters a trip to Las Vegas.
