The Raiders and Giants agreed to a trade on Tuesday which will see tight end Darren Waller head to New York in exchange for a third round pick (No. 100 overall) in the 2023 NFL draft.
Las Vegas running back Josh Jacobs did not seem to take too kindly to the news of the trade, posting an NSFW three-word reaction to Twitter in the immediate aftermath.
“S—s sad fr,” said Jacobs, amid the news that Waller would be dealt to the Giants.
While the Raiders endured a disappointing season in 2022, Jacobs was one of the few bright spots. He tallied a league-leading 1,640 rushing yards and had a career-high 12 rushing touchdowns in what was his best campaign to date.
Jacobs’s individual success didn’t stop the 25-year-old from voicing his displeasure with the team at times throughout the year.
After the team offloaded a key offensive weapon to New York, Jacobs once again took to social media to air his grievances, seemingly displeased by the decision from the front office.
The Raiders placed the franchise tag on Jacobs this offseason, keeping him in Las Vegas for one more year at a cost of $10.091 million. He's set to hit unrestricted free agency after the 2023 season.
