The Bills had the lead. It was precarious. They were looking at a fourth-and-two and could try and kick a field goal for a five-point lead.
Sean McDermott wasn’t going to settle for three. The ball was in Josh Allen’s hands and his legs decided the drive and the game.
Allen’s 26-yard run was the insurance score as the Buffalo Bills downed the Chiefs, 30-21, on Sunday.

The loss was Kansas City’s first of the 2024 season. The last time the Chiefs had lost was on Christmas.
Allen threw a touchdown pass in addition to running for the late TD.
The Bills managed to contain Patrick Mahomes, who threw three touchdown passes but only for 196 yards and had two throws picked off.
The Bills improve to 9-2 and the Chiefs fall to 9-1.
On 4th & 2 with 2:27 left in regulation, Josh Allen dropped back before breaking off a 26-yard TD run.
Allen had just a 1.2% chance of scoring a touchdown once he tucked the ball to run. It was Allen’s first scramble TD run against the Chiefs in his career.

Allen knows there is a good chance the Bills will see Mahomes and the Chiefs in the postseason.
