Jorginho drops Manchester United vs Chelsea team news hint after West Ham penalty miss

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has dropped a potential hint over Thomas Tuchel's selection versus Manchester United this evening. The Italian midfielder has been criticised heavily in recent days after missing a tame penalty in the closing stages of the Blues' win against West Ham United at the weekend.

With just minutes to go in the London derby, and the score still at 0-0, Jorginho had the perfect chance to put Chelsea into the lead from 12 yards after Romelu Lukaku was brought down in the box. The Italy international, who has an unorthodox run-up for penalty kicks, hit the ball straight at a grateful Lukasz Fabianski.

Fortunately for Jorginho, his Chelsea team-mate Christian Pulisic bailed him out with a late strike to hand the Blues all three points at Stamford Bridge. Some people on social media have asked for Jorginho to be taken out of the side for this evening's away clash with Manchester United.

However, the Chelsea midfielder may have just dropped a hint that he could be part of Thomas Tuchel's XI at Stamford Bridge. He posted a story on his official Instagram page with a small video of matchday graphics. A lot of the time when players post these videos, or sometimes pictures, it hints that they could be part of the XI. It's not always the case, though.

Jorginho will be hoping to bounce back from his penalty miss at the weekend and give Chelsea fans something to smile about in Manchester this evening. The comments regarding his spot-kick have been brutal, none least than Graeme Souness on Sky Sports at the weekend.

Asked what he thought about the spot-kick, Souness responded: "Pathetic. It bounces before it gets to the goalkeeper. That’s an example of how you don’t take a penalty."

Tuchel, though, backed his midfielder, saying: "For the penalty, Jorgi has – or had – the perfect record with us. So we all believed we had finally the chance to score the goal we needed. He has a certain style of shooting, and I got the question just before, but when he scores – as he had done at a 100% level – it looks unbelievably cool and calm and composed. But when he misses, it looks like he could've done better. But it's style, and he is right to stick to it. He is upset with himself and happy that Puli (Christian Pulisic) turned things around."
