Jordan McLean has been robbed of the chance to make his State of Origin debut next Wednesday, with the NSW prop ruled out of the series-deciding match because of a hamstring injury.
McLean sustained the injury at a training session, with the Blues confirming this afternoon he would miss the clash with Queensland at Lang Park.
"My career has been full of ups and downs," McLean said in a Blues statement.
"I've kind of gotten used to it but I thought there might be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.
"The hardest thing will be telling my family. I was looking forward to the opportunity but it wasn't to be."
McLean, 30, was set to make his Origin debut after being named to replace Payne Haas, who was ruled out of the third match because of a shoulder injury.
The Blues have named Newcastle's Jacob Saifiti as McLean's replacement.
McLean had been a member of the Blues' extended squad for Origin II in Perth.
The Blues levelled the State of Origin series with their convincing 44-12 victory in the second match, after the Maroons won the opening clash 16-10 in Sydney last month.
