TV presenter Jonnie Irwin made a rare public appearance today to join his former colleagues at The TRIC 2023 awards. The A Place In The Sun host was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2020.
He was first diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2020 but decided to share the news of his illness last November, after the cancer spread to his brain. His condition is terminal and Irwin has previously said he "doesn't know how long" he has left to live.
The 49-year-old is best known for fronting Channel 4 property A Place In The Sun but has also presented Escape to the Country. In 2022, he accused the producers of A Place In The Sun of axing him from the show after 18 years after he revealed his cancer diagnosis.

But the star was back with his former colleagues tonight at The TRIC Awards 2023, which are hosted by the Television and Radio Industries Club. Before the awards evening kicked off, Irwin posed with hosts Nicki Chapman, Jules Hudson and Sonali Shah outside the Grosvenor Hotel in London, where the awards were held.
The reunion between the old friends was not the only thing to celebrate at the awards, as the team took home a trophy. The prize was awarded after A Place In The Sun scooped the award in the Daytime category.
Despite the award win, Irwin did not join his former colleagues on stage to collect the trophy.
