Jonathan Gannon reveals potential player fines in team meetings

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon runs a tight ship. He revealed some of the expectations he has of his players in team meetings on Wednesday with a couple of jokes with media members.

During Wednesday’s press conference, one reporter’s phone went off.

Gannon noted that was a $15,000 fine, which would be the max for a cell phone violation.

Just moments later, Gannon called out another reporter who apparently sneaked in the presser a little late.

Gannon said that would be a $5,000 fine for arriving late.

We already know that linebacker Zaven Collins was called out for finishing his breakfast as a team meeting started.

He preaches accountability and competition. Having a fee structure for meeting violations is a way to reinforce accountability for preparation and punctuality for meetings.

Harsh? Yes.

Common in the NFL? Also yes.
