Johnny Depp wants to become friends with ex-girlfriend Kate Moss after she testified in his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
The jury ruled in Depp's favour after he sued his ex for $50 million after she wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018 in which she called herself a "public figure representing domestic abuse."
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor won the trial after the jury found that Heard defamed him in the op-ed and was awarded compensatory damages of $10million (£8million) and a further $5million (£4million) in punitive damages.
Depp's ex Kate Moss took to the stand during the bitter 7-week trial after Heard name-dropped her during her turn on the stand, and said of an alleged incident where he pushed her down the stairs.
The former supermodel denied these claims in court, and now her actor ex wants to rekindle a friendship.
A source told HollywoodLife: "Johnny met up with Kate backstage at the show and he didn’t know she was coming so he was very surprised to see her there.
"They hugged and he thanked her for participating in the trial."
They further claimed that the duo instantly reconnected.
"It has been so long since the two of them have been able to catch up, but they spent a good hour or more aside just catching up.
"They always make each other laugh and Kate finds Johnny’s intellect to be beyond his years," they added.
‘They always make each other laugh and Kate finds Johnny’s intellect to be beyond his years.’
The source added that Depp is ‘super glad’ the court case brought Kate back into his life and hopes to maintain a friendship as ‘she is a good person who obviously has his best interests at heart.’
Appearing on the stand via video link, Moss completely denied the allegations that Depp pushed her down the stairs during a holiday to Jamaica.
“We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did,” Moss said.
“There had been a rainstorm. As I left the room, I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back.
"I screamed because I didn’t know what happened to me and I was in pain.
He came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.
“He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” Moss added.
The actor is currently joining close friend Jeff Beck on his remaining UK tour dates, and has performed in Glasgow and London.
