John Travolta signs bag of sausage rolls for Morrisons customer whilst buying biscuits and fillet steak

Hollywood star John Travolta was spotted in a Morrisons store in Norfolk this weekend, leaving customers and staff star-struck. The 68-year-old actor, best known for his role as Danny in Grease, was spotted in the Fakenham supermarket browsing the digestive biscuits.

Travolta, who was also spotted at a Wetherspoons pub last week, is said to be filming a Christmas short film called 'The Shepherd' in Norfolk. The Saturday Night Fever star was greeted by plenty of fans, who were just going about their daily shop when they bumped into him, and he was happy to talk to and take pictures with them.

Gary Middleton, who is a security guard at the Morrisons store, approached the superstar whilst he was paying for his shopping and took a selfie with him. Speaking to inews, Gary said that John was surrounded by people.

The 48-year-old said: "You don’t assume a superstar like that is going to walk into Morrisons. As I walked closer to him he just put his hand out and I said: ‘So you are him then?’ and he said: ‘Yes.’

"After I left he was surrounded by people. He signed a bag of ready-to-eat sausage rolls for one customer."

Gary said that John had a trolley full of goods, and was buying fillet steaks, pizzas, and biscuits. There are also reports that the star asked a manager at the supermarket whether Morrisons' own brand of shortbread was in stock.

Meanwhile, Morrisons employee Nicola Gee, who is a self-confessed 'massive fan' of the Saturday Night Fever star, was the first to spot Travolta at her place of work. According to Ms Gee, the actor came into the store with two other men, and spent around an hour chatting with customers and staff, and taking photos.

She told the BBC: "You don't expect stars to do their own shopping. You expect them to send someone else,

"We were all a bit excited, and he was just so pleasant about it. I've seen all his films. He looks really well still. It was totally crazy to see him in little Fakenham."

Other movie buffs were lucky enough to meet the Grease icon in a Wetherspoons pub in Dereham, Norfolk on Thursday (March 31). According to diners who spotted Travolta at the eatery, the actor and his group had been eating pizzas and burgers.

The Hollywood star is said to be filming at RAF West Raynham, a former Royal Air Force station in Norfolk. Details of 'The Shepherd' are scarce, with Travolta only revealing the name of his latest project in an Instagram post dedicated to his daughter on her birthday.

Travolta wrote: "Happy birthday my dearest Ella! I love you so much.

"We're here in England having afternoon tea to celebrate and I'm also here to shoot a short film 'The Shepherd' based on a book by Frederick Forsyth that I've always loved."
