John Torode reveals he no longer speaks to sacked MasterChef star Gregg Wallace

  • Former MasterChef presenter John Torode has revealed that he no longer communicates with his former co-host Gregg Wallace , stating that their relationship was exclusively professional both during and after filming.
  • Gregg Wallace was sacked from the BBC culinary series in July 2025 after an independent review substantiated 45 misconduct claims made against him.
  • Torode departed the MasterChef franchise shortly after Wallace following upheld allegations that he used racist language by singing along to the Kanye West track “Gold Digger” at a 2019 wrap party.
  • In a recent interview with The Times , Torode described the period surrounding his exit as stressful and discussed moving on to host a YouTube cooking show with his wife, Lisa Faulkner.
  • Although Torode does not watch the current series presented by Grace Dent and Anna Haugh, he praised Dent and said he wants the MasterChef legacy to endure for all former contestants.
