John Lundstram made sure he made the most of his Union Saint Gilloise revenge mission after helping Rangers complete a remarkable Champions League recovery at Ibrox. The midfield enforcer accused the Belgian side of showing a lack of respect with their wild post match celebrations following a 2-0 victory in the first leg of their third round qualifier in Leuven.
That sparked a war of words with manager Karel Geraerts dismissing Lundstram's claims in his pre-match press conference, insisting their reaction was normal after such a big win on their return to Europe after almost 60 years. But Lundstram savoured a 3-0 win at Ibrox as they overturned the first leg defeat - the first time Rangers had managed to come back from a two-goal deficit in the first leg in Europe.
The Englishman posted a picture his of feet and football boots on the Ibrox dressing room floor along with the message "chat sh*t get banged" accompanied by laughing emojis.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men now face PSV Eindhoven in the playoff round for a place in the group stage of the Champions League.
