Lamar Jackson missed his fourth practice this week due to an undisclosed illness. While Jackson has missed at least one practice due to illness each season of his NFL career, this is still uncharted territory for him.
Training camp has only been going on for less than a week, and Jackson has already missed four sessions.
What’s even more unsettling is that the reigning MVP felt well enough to return but then had to leave early because he felt unwell again.
Head coach John Harbaugh provided an update while not revealing Jackson’s specific ailment.
“He’s fighting through an illness,” Harbaugh said.
“Working with our doctors, doing all the tests, and even more tests, to make sure we get everything covered.
“I’m confident he’ll be back pretty soon. It’s just an unpredictable deal.”
Jackson might have come back too soon, or perhaps he’s dealing with a new/second physical issue.
The specific details are not confirmed as of this time, as even Harbaugh revealed that the situation is unpredictable.
But at least he sounds optimistic about when Jackson might return to action.
