John Goodman, who played Fred Flintstone, once weighed 28 stone before he dropped a whopping 200lb (14.3 stone).
John, 70, flaunted his much trimmer frame at the weekend's 62nd Monte Carlo TV Festival in Monaco and he proudly posed for snaps on the red carpet.
And despite the Hollywood star's epic weight loss over the years, he admits it hasn't always been easy to stay his new slim self. He confessed that during the Covid-19 pandemic, he became lazy with his exercise routine, revealing he "let everything go".
He admits he hasn't quite got back into a strict regime but said he is focussed on his health once more.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, he said: "I haven’t been exercising, but I’m going to start a routine again this summer where I can get some stuff done.
"I’ve just let everything go just because I haven’t had the energy."
He explained how a lot of his routine simply relies on him taking his dogs for a walk. Prior to Covid, however, he had been a keen boxer for fitness.
But he said the shutdown left him unable to continue to training and simply admits he hasn't got back into it because he is "lazy".
He explained how he was far from a boxer but instead just used the mitts and tried to learn.
Previously opening up on his weight loss journey, which started when he gave up drinking in 2007, he said personal trainer Mackie Shilstone helped him take his weight loss further by introducing John to a "Mediterranean-style eating plan".
This involves focusing on eating fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables and fruit.
During that time he was said to work out six days a week, making sure he was taking in 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day.
The actor opened up about further to ABC in 2017, saying: "In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.
"This time I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I'm getting to the age where I can't afford to sit still anymore."
