Joey Barton believes the has the competition for the goalkeeper place he wanted as James Belshaw returns to the Bristol Rovers starting XI for Saturday's clash with Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.
January signing Ellery Balcombe, on loan from Brentford, has started the past five games, but Belshaw, a fans' favourite and the reigning player of the year dons the gloves this afternoon.
"I think Ellery has done well in there," Barton told BBC Radio Bristol. "It has been really tough for him in terms of Belly’s favouritism in the fanbase and we have got what we wanted, which is two good goalkeepers competing for a jersey.
