Philadelphia 76ers fans were left holding their breath on Tuesday night as star player Joel Embiid suffered a knee injury during a game against the Golden State Warriors. The injury occurred in the fourth quarter when Embiid was double-teamed and his knee was accidentally landed on by Warriors player Jonathan Kuminga.
Embiid, who had already missed two games due to knee soreness in the same knee, was listed as questionable before the game. Despite feeling good and receiving medical clearance to play, it was evident that Embiid was not performing at his usual level. There was a noticeable lack of explosiveness in his defense and less aggression when attacking the hoop on offense.
