Joe Fournier predicts he will KO KSI just as Canelo Alvarez did to Amir Khan

Joe Fournier is backing himself to stop KSI in the same way as Canelo Alvarez's brutal one-punch KO of Amir Khan.

The professional star will look to continue his undefeated streak when he makes the switch to influencer boxing to take on KSI at Wembley Arena on May 13. KSI has not yet been defeated in the YouTube boxing scene having beaten the likes of Swarmz, Luis Pineda and FaZe Temperrr since returning to the squared circle last year.

Fournier will be the most formidable examination of KSI's boxing credentials to date given he previously picked up a WBA title during the height of his career. And the 40-year-old entrepreneur, who last shared the ring with friend David Haye, has vowed to trade in the centre of the ring with his rival.

"Do you really want to trade with someone that is naturally 10lb or 15lb bigger than you?," Fournier said during a pre-fight interview ahead of his Misfits Boxing debut. "It is not a good idea, yeah you may jump around and get away for the first few minutes. But do you remember Canelo v Amir Khan? This is exactly how the fight will go. And I am Canelo.

"He got put to sleep, the KSI that fights me is going to be the best KSI that fights anyone. But I am getting in the bath so I am prepared to get wet. You can't play boxing but in reality he isn't going to be hitting me with anything I haven't before. But I am going to be hitting him with something he hasn't before.

"I don't think you can compare our resumes because my KO's are against professional boxers. You can just see the velocity I punch at compared to him and it is a whole different sport. It is like him trying to open up a nightclub against me he is never going to win. He is coming into my stratosphere and I think he has bitten off more than he can chew."

KSI will be looking to get a big win given his bitter rival Jake Paul lost to professional fighter Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia two months ago. A victory over Fournier could lead to the pinnacle fights finally being made in KSI's career which could include a showdown with Jake Paul, or a meeting with Tommy Fury.

'The Nightmare' initially reached a public winner-takes-all agreement to face Paul, but he later admitted he would be open to bypassing that fight and exploring a clash with Fury. It was expected his American rival would first rematch Fury, but the British star's dad John has revealed talks have been held with KSI's team over a fight if he professes beyond Fournier.
