Graham Potter's introduction at Chelsea hasn't gone immediately to plan in that his only match so far was a draw against RB Salzburg, but it's far too soon to judge how well the new man will do.
What will become noticeable in the meantime is if he can change the atmosphere in the team around quickly or not. The so-called 'new manager bounce' is often talked about when a managerial change happens and Chelsea as a club have seen it all too often.
Given the attacking struggles and lack of confidence that any forward had under Thomas Tuchel come the end of his 19-months in charge it would be understandable to expect a change in heart from those players straightaway. That wasn't the case against Salzburg though as Raheem Sterling was the only shining light up front as goalscoring labours proved a familiar issue.

This comes with the standard 'clean slate' mentality that a new manager offers. It's the chance for previously exiled or underperforming players to prove themselves, fans and the new manager wrong. It's an opportunity to express themselves once more and make a U-turn.
This is what Antonio Rudiger and Jorginho were able to do once Frank Lampard left and the duo pioneered a resurgent Chelsea side into becoming Champions League winners. The players perhaps most left on the outside to be disappointed under Tuchel were Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic.
Both players wanted out of Stamford Bridge this summer and the club reciprocated. Their form has, other than brief spells, been extremely poor since joining the club and neither player was getting the best of themselves in the 3-4-2-1 system used by Tuchel.
Ziyech came under fire for his surprise start against Southampton in the 2-1 defeat earlier this season, not taking full advantage of an unexpected chance to get back into his manager's good books. The Moroccan winger was then back on the bench for the game against West Ham before being a substitute against Dinamo Zagreb. As he came off the bench in Croatia he went on to have one of the worst cameos in recent memory and, to Chelsea fans, showed exactly why he had been moved away from consistent minutes by Tuchel.
The match proved to be Tuchel's last in charge and Joe Cole, who was emotional in his expression of disappointment from Chelsea, highlighted Ziyech as an issue. "Those players have come in to tonight and given a chance and have not taken it," he said.
"So at least you can say to them, I am not playing you and showing them the clips. Ziyech has a lot of talent, but it is just not clicking for him at Chelsea so it’s a disappointing night for the club, a shock result."
The 29-year-old has just one goal contribution, an assist against Leeds in a 3-0 win last season, in his last 11 matches. Outside of three goals in three matches over winter last season, Ziyech has no other assists or goals in his last 17 appearances.
He was once again moved to the bench by Graham Potter in his first match and wasn't able to add the desired spark when called upon, struggling once more in the second half, only proving Cole's point right. Ziyech is clearly out of confidence but given his desire to return to Ajax and the circumstances that kept him at Chelsea, that is unlikely to return even under Potter and even with a clean slate.
Cole has previously shown his frustration towards Ziyech, notably after his failure to celebrate against Brighton last season. "This is what you play for," an angry Cole said on BT Sport. "He's a fantastic talent, he hasn't hit the ground running in the Premier League as it's very different to the Dutch league. But the not celebrating. It doesn't sit well for him as a lad.
"If he was in my team I'd be saying come on. You know when lads are not happy and they're not playing. But if I come off the bench and score a goal, it's a release of energy."
Potter will now have to work with Ziyech to try to regain any form of the spark and the player he once was, otherwise his anger and disappointment will build-up as Chelsea fans continue to show their disapproval towards the attacker.
