Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t afraid to take hits on the football field.
In fact, Burrow has argued that sacks aren’t as big of a deal as people make them out to be.
But after seeing the injury Burrow suffered during his rookie year and the brutal course last season took, folks like Pat McAfee would like to see him take fewer hits, anyway.
Burrow, though, after joking about being sore the day after just being a part of football, explained why he doesn’t mind the hits: “I’ve built my career on the back of mental and physical toughness. I had to work to get the physical gifts I have. I didn’t always have that. What I had was my mental and physical toughness.”
In a funny turn, McAfee brought up when Burrow had to miss a play against Philadelphia and all Burrow could do was lament the fact he had missed just that one play.
