Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow presents a massive problem for most defenses for many reasons.
Going over every single one — including that newfound mobility now that his calf is 100 percent — would take more time than most onlookers have right now.
But thanks to Dan Orlovsky’s recent film breakdown on Twitter, we’ve got an in-depth look at one facet that makes Burrow so dangerous.
In the clip, Burrow reads the defense at the line of scrimmage and notices a particular hand signal from Bills defensive backs that, combined with the alignment of the teams, lets him exploit the defense.
After registering things, Burrow drops back and uses the timing of a wideout he doesn’t plan on targeting to free up his real target, before dropping a super-accurate pass between two defenders.
It’s a play that, if we had to guess, only a handful of passers in the league can make — and it sure looks nearly impossible to defend.
