Rangers star Joe Aribo won't be making a move to English Premier League side Aston Villa this summer with former manager Steven Gerrard, according to reports.
The Nigerian international is on a summer break after a marathon 2021/22 season saw him play 70 games for club and country as Rangers reached the Europa League Final, while Nigeria featured at the Africa Cup of Nations. He is in the final year of his Ibrox deal and hasn't put pen to paper on a new one, sparking constant rumours of a summer exit.
A number of Premier League clubs have been linked, including Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. Aston Villa were another but any supposed interest has cooled off, according to the Express and Star. They report that along with West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek, Aribo is not a player the Villans boss has any 'interest' in during this summer window.

Gerrard brought Aribo to Glasgow in 2019 and he has emerged as one of the club's key players in that time.
Current boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst is back with his squad for pre-season training ahead of the new campaign where they will look to reclaim the Premiership title they lost to Celtic.
Champions League qualifiers are also on the horizon and Rangers will enter that competition at the third qualifying round.
