Jodie Comer issues two word verdict after prestigious award win

Jodie Comer has issued her verdict after she received an Olivier Award.

The 30-year-old from Childwall was named Best Actress at the prestigious ceremony for her portrayal of Tessa in Prima Facie. The stage play ran at the Harold Pinter theatre in London last year and follows a high flying barrister specialising in defending people accused of sexual assault.

The powerful one woman play won acclaim as Jodie's character changes her view of the flawed legal system after she is raped and forced to provide crystal clear evidence for a conviction to be secured. The Scouse superstar's powerhouse performance was recognised when she received the prize at the Olivier Awards- considered the Oscars of the theatre world - at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday evening.

The prize is even more impressive given the show was Jodie's West End debut. The star has now taken to Instagram to reveal how she feels about the win, confessing her achievement hasn't quite sunk in yet. She shared a snap of herself holding the award alongside the caption: "Still processing."

The win is the latest chapter in the Killing Eve star's unstoppable rise to the top of the industry. Jodie hails from humble surroundings and she shared an inspiring message to the next generation in her acceptance speech.

She said: "To any kids who haven't been to drama school, who can't afford to go, have been rejected - don't let anyone tell you it's impossible."
