Jodie Comer has issued a heartfelt tribute to Katarina Johnson-Thompson after she successfully defended her Commonwealth Games crown.

The 29-year-old scooped gold in the heptathlon last night as she triumphed with 6377 points. Johnson-Thompson has been close friends with Jodie since they first met when they were pupils at St Julie's school in Woolton.

The Killing Eve actress took to Instagram to praise her close pal after her remarkable triumph. She said: "The strength and determination of this beautiful soul."
