Snooker legend Jimmy White left fans in stitches after dropping a cheeky comment live on air before his clash with Ryan Day at the UK Championship. White, 60, made a remarkable return to the major this week, having won four matches in qualifying to set up his clash with Day.
Sadly for the Whirlwind it was not to be, as he was defeated by his Welsh rival 6-2 on Saturday night. Despite the loss, ever the joker White was back to his old tricks prior to the match.
This came after the 60-year-old was approached for a quick pre-match interview in his dressing room by Eurosport presenter Rachel Casey.
As Casey made her way into the dressing room for a comment in the build-up, White cheekily commented: "I ordered two brunettes," leaving both the broadcaster and those watching the action at home in hysterics.
The Whirlwind was greeted with a quite remarkable reception in the York arena on Saturday, with White being cheered and shouted for all the way to the table by the Yorkshire crowd. And despite dropping the first two frames, the 60-year-old got himself back into it by winning the third.
World No. 16 Day though went on to prove too strong for the Whirlwind though, as he won four of the next five frames to book himself in the next round and set up a tie against Englishman Sam Craigie. Despite the defeat, White was more than thankful for the reception he received from the adoring crowd.
Post-match he said: "The reception I got was what I live for. It was just magical. It took me a little time to settle down.” However, White admitted there was some disappointment when it came to assessing his performance.

The Whirlwind said: "Horrendous first frame. I looked like potting my way out of trouble, played a bad green, did not get on the brown, potted the brown, did not get on the blue, he won the frame. The second frame my shot selection was all over the office.
"I should have easily been 2-0 up and now behind. I am just disappointed, I did not really play and got a bit frustrated out there... I am a little disappointed I did not produce it for them [the fans], but I can build on this. I have had no form at all. I have been practising hard and it is starting to happen."
