Well, it was fun while it lasted.
Jim Harbaugh hopped on a jet plane for a face-to-face interview with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday, and he has reportedly made the decision to return to Michigan for the 2022 season, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
There was a lot of anticipation that a deal would get done between the two sides considering Harbaugh’s close relationship with Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. Multiple reports ahead of his trip even stated that he was ready to agree to a deal if one was offered to him.
So Harbaugh will head back to Michigan and leave the Vikings to the business of trying to find a new head coach to replace the recently fired Mike Zimmer.
It’s important to note that New York Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham went through a nine-hour interview process on Tuesday. He’s obviously a serious candidate the team is excited about.
Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell are also on that list.
