Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh suddenly finds himself with a lot of free time on his hands, having incurred a three-game suspension from the Big Ten as the conference investigated allegations of illegal in-person scouting by the Wolverines.
One of Harbaugh's former lieutenants has an idea for what he should do with it.
Charlotte coach Biff Poggi invited Harbaugh to the 49ers’ games against Rice on Saturday and South Florida on Nov. 25, publicly appealing to his former boss to reenact their former arrangement.
“I am extending an open invitation to Jim Harbaugh to join me on the sidelines for the next two Charlotte football games,” Poggi wrote on social media. “It would be my honor to stand next to you again as we did for three years.”

Poggi served as an associate head coach for Michigan in 2021 and ’22, both of which ended with the Wolverines winning the Big Ten title.
He has not been able to recreate his success in year one with Charlotte, which is currently 3–7.
