Justin Herbert returned to the practice field after missing the past couple of weeks while nursing an injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot.
Jim Harbaugh was just one of many excited that the star quarterback was back in action.
“It was great,” Harbaugh said of Herbert’s return. “I thought I heard music … the voice of angels, maybe.
“I was excited,” Harbaugh added. “I think [his teammates] were excited, too. I don’t know if they heard the angels singing like I did.”
Herbert hadn’t practiced since July 31. Fast forward to Monday, and he exchanged the walking boot for his gold practice jersey.
Herbert looked like he hadn’t lost a step. He completed 11 of 12 passes in 7-on-7 drills and engineered a prolific two-minute drill, according to team reporter Eric Smith.
“Good. Really good. Great with a capital G,” Harbaugh said on his performance in practice. “No drop off. Pinpoint accuracy. Looked really good.”
