Dr Jill Biden was welcomed with a warm embrace and a kiss on both cheeks by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as she arrived with her granddaughter, Finnegan Biden, at Downing Street for an outdoor Coronation lunch.
The weather held up for the occasion, and the group laughed and joked as they met. Dr Biden was dressed in a long white embroidered dress.
Akshata Murty, Mr Sunak's wife, also greeted them as they arrived.
Along with the Sunak family, the event was attended by Mr Sunak's two daughters and their family dog, Nova, who was sporting a union flag bandana.
Two lengthy tables draped in white linen were adorned in front of the iconic black Number 10 door, with vases filled with tulips and mugs emblazoned with the words "King Charles III."
Guests indulged in an array of dishes, including Coronation quiches, Coronation chicken, sausage rolls, and smoked salmon.
The menu showcased delicacies sourced from various regions of the UK, such as beef from Gloucestershire, served in Yorkshire puddings, Scottish Loch Duart salmon, Northern Irish soda bread, and ice cream from Wales.
The crockery used for the occasion was generously donated by Emma Bridgewater, a pottery company with notable royal ties.
The festive atmosphere was heightened with the presence of union flag bunting that adorned the street, while the RAF Northolt brass quintet provided musical accompaniment.
Shortly before Dr Biden's arrival, Mr Sunak emerged from the Number 10 door with his family, greeting the assembled guests and mingling with them.
Among the invitees were individuals who had received the Points of Light Award, which recognizes regular people doing exceptional work for their communities.
Also present were Ukrainians who had relocated to the UK under the Homes for Ukraine program following Russia's invasion of their country, as well as their UK sponsors.
Additionally, young people from UK Youth and the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs attended the event.
The occasion was hosted by Mr Sunak and Ms Murty as part of the Big Lunch festivities that were held throughout the country during the Coronation weekend.
As part of the celebrations, thousands of luncheons are being organized today across the country, along with a nighttime concert at Windsor Castle that features Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and 1990s boy band Take That.
Residents are being encouraged by King Charles to engage in volunteer activities today.
The King and Queen Camilla are not expected to attend any of the luncheons but plan to attend the concert, which will include a speech by Prince William, heir to the throne.
Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Anne, the Princess Royal, and their spouses took on lunch duty for the Royal Family.
Edward was in Cranleigh and his sister hit an event in Swindon. The King's nieces, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew, were to join a lunch in Windsor.
