Ladies and gentlemen, we've got a trade.
The Jets are sending star defensive end Jermaine Johnson, 27, to the Titans in exchange for 24-year-old defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat, multiple sources confirmed Thursday morning. The trade will not be processed until the new league year begins in March.

Notably, the swap means that Johnson will be reunited with first-year Titans coach Robert Saleh, who drafted him to the Jets back in 2022.
Johnson, who is scheduled to become a free agent in 2027, finished the 2025 season with 43 total tackles, three sacks and two passes defended across 14 games played. Sweat, meanwhile, notched 34 total tackles, two sacks and one pass defended across 12 contests.
Johnson thanks Jets, fans after trade
Not long after news of the trade was made public, Johnson shared a thank you letter to New York in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
"New York, thank you for everything truly," the DE wrote. "The love I’ve been shown here for the past 4-5 years has been nothing short of amazing, both on and off the field. Y’all will always hold a special place in my heart. Wish all of my former coaches and former teammates the best!! Thank all of y’all for sharing a battlefield with me. 11 out. 🫡"

Sweat posts on Instagram
Sweat, for his part, was posting up a storm on his Instagram stories after learning of his move to New York.
For starters, he re-shared the trade graphic posted by the NFL and added three "plane" emojis to signify the Jets.
He then followed that up with re-posts of well-wishes from fellow players and what looked to be friends.
