Jets head coach Robert Saleh said this week offensive tackle Billy Turner is dealing with a hand injury that he considered “concerning”. So far, it’s not looking good for Turner’s availability for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Turner missed Thursday’s practice, the first full practice for the Jets with this being a short week coming off the game on Monday. Unless something drastically changes Friday, Turner is not expected to play Sunday.
One offensive tackle that did practice was Duane Brown and he was a full participant again, as he was all last week. The Jets have not yet activated Brown from injured reserve. His 21-day practice window was opened last Thursday.
Having Brown come back and being able to have him and Mekhi Becton as the two tackles with Max Mitchell is an option for the Jets. They also could move Mitchell back to right tackle and call up Rodger Saffold from the practice squad to play right guard.
We’ll see how practice goes Friday, but it’s looking like the Jets will be without Turner and linebacker Chazz Surratt.
Here’s the full practice report from Thursday.
LB Chazz Surratt
Did not practice – ankle
OL Billy Turner
Did not practice – finger
WR Allen Lazard
Limited – knee
TE Jeremy Ruckert
Limited – shoulder
LB Quincy Williams

#Jets injury update: Billy Turner out again. No surprise. Have to believe Max Mitchell will go back to right tackle. Who’s at right guard? What’s on second? pic.twitter.com/ahS9gwg1hL
