Top Gun fans are in for a mega treat when the much anticipated sequel of the 1980s blockbuster comes to Arc Cinemas in Nottinghamshire. Once again the cinemas are going full throttle for the screening of Top Gun: Maverick at Hucknall on Friday, May 27, and at Beeston Saturday, May 28.
Fans will be able to get a professional photo sitting in a Phantom jet fighter cockpit wearing Maverick's famous red and blue pilot' helmet. A Tom Cruise lookalike who worked with the star on the actual movie heard about the event and has reached out to see if he can get involved on the night.
Tickets are now on sale and for an extra £6 fans can sit in the cockpit. They will also receive souvenir posters, postcards and a bumper sticker for their car plus entry into a prize draw to win a Top Gun goodie bag.

Manager Mark Gallagher said: "In true Arc Cinema fashion we’re going above and beyond for another of our fan events. We’ve been planning this event for three months - getting hold of a mobile fighter jet cockpit wasn’t easy!"
Previous film releases have seen the iconic Batmobiles at both cinemas and the Ghostbusters' Ecto-1 van. Mark added: "I’ve loved organising these events at both of our cinemas in Hucknall and Beeston and am always looking at what big releases are coming to see if I can think up the next event.
"I’m a big 80s movie fan and my son’s name is actually Maverick so I’d be stupid not to organise something. Coming up with a premise was tricky, but while I was looking for a flight simulator I stumbled across this actual fighter jet cockpit based in Newark that is used for TV and film hire and I had to have it.”
Access to the cockpit is via the original crew ladders so it rules out children under five years old, disabled people and those with limited mobility. Getting in and out is said to be "fairly demanding" even for the able-bodied.
