Jesse Winker slammed his batting helmet in celebration after scoring during the Mets’ big ninth inning

The New York Mets saved their season on Thursday night in Milwaukee to advance to the next round of the 2024 MLB playoffs.

A Pete Alonso three-run homer got New York on the board at the top of the ninth inning, then Mets outfielder Starling Marte drove fellow Mets outfielder Jesse Winker home to give the team an extra run down the stretch.

As Winker made it to home plate, he slammed his batting helmet to the ground in celebration as his team was about to complete a stunning come-from-behind playoff victory on the road.

What a moment for Winker and the Mets during such a memorable win for the franchise.
