Eni Aluko has praised Jesse Marsch for the tactical switch that has allowed Rodrigo to flourish at Leeds United this season. The Spaniard has nine goals and one assist in the Premier League this season for the Whites, his best return since making the move to Elland Road from Valencia in 2020.
Rodrigo has played in a variety of positions for Leeds since that move two years ago, but Aluko believes he's finally playing in the best position, operating from the flank. The Spanish forward has had his fair share of injury problems in the Whites' shirt, including this season.
It's perhaps no coincidence that Leeds' downturn in form this season, started and coincided with an injury Rodrigo picked up in the draw with Everton. It took the 31-year-old four games to find the back of the net again, scoring five in his last five games.

Aluko said: "Rodrigo’s been key for Leeds, certainly before the break. Five goals in four matches, scored some important goals. Particularly those against Spurs - I know they lost the game, but he was really lively in that game.
"I think what Jesse Marsch has done, his resurgence under Marsch, under Bielsa he’s playing in sort of more of a number 10 role, it wasn’t really his role and I don’t think the fans were really too sure. Now he’s playing more on the wings, this is definitely his position.
"(Against Liverpool) he capitalises on a good mistake, he’s alive to it, but it’s the goals against Spurs that were brilliant goals. You really saw what he can do. This is his position, he’s not really a pocket player, he’s a winger."
