Legendary presenter Jeff Stelling will not be leaving Sky Sports at the end of the season.
The 67-year-old is one of the most recognisable faces in football broadcasting having been at the helm of Sky's Soccer Saturday show since 1994.
He's been a staple of Saturday afternoon TV ever since with Stelling anchoring a host of pundits reporting on the action, mainly the English Premier League, in real time.
There was an outpouring of emotion in October when Stelling announced he would be stepping aside at the end of this season.
But Sky have now announced he won't step down, as he admits he wasn't ready to sign off on the "best job in the world."
He has decided to stay on for at least the 2022/23 season.
Stelling said: "Sky Sports is my home and the Soccer Saturday team are a big part of my life.
"As the end of the season approached, and I was preparing to say goodbye, I realised that I was not ready to blow the final whistle and leave the best job in the world.
"I'm thrilled to be staying and excited about moving this show forward and creating more special Saturday afternoons on Sky Sports."
Sky will host Sunday's Premiership derby between Rangers and Celtic this coming Sunday.
