A Fresno, California, woman and her boyfriend have been arrested in connection with the slaying earlier this year of the woman's younger sister and her infant daughter, police said.
Yarelly Solorio-Rivera, 22, and Martin Arroyo-Morales, 26, were arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of murder, Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama said during a Thursday news conference. Balderrama said the pair confessed to killing Yanelly Solorio-Rivera and her 3-week-old daughter, Celine.
"We can now say with complete certainty that we have those responsible for this homicide in custody," Balderrama said. "We have the murder weapon, a Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun, and we have a motive: jealousy and sibling rivalry."
