Jazz were willing to do favorable Russell Westbrook trade with Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers, who are 0-3 this season, haven’t traded Russell Westbrook, and fans are growing even more anxious about the team’s prospects.

L.A. aggressively explored multiple trade offers over the last several months, but apparently it wasn’t able to find one it found palatable enough.

One offer reportedly involved the Utah Jazz and would’ve netted the Lakers sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic, veteran forward Rudy Gay and veteran point guard Mike Conley.

It would’ve cost them two future first-round draft picks, but some fans felt it was the best offer available.

Reportedly, the Jazz were on board with that deal, and they were even willing to sweeten the pot for the Lakers.

Via Lakers Daily:

“To make matters more frustrating for Lakers fans, it looks as though the Jazz were even willing to send the Lakers a 2023 first-round pick in the deal.

“The Athletic’s Tony Jones wrote on Twitter that the Jazz were good to go with the deal.”

Of course, the Jazz ended up trading Bogdanovic to the Detroit Pistons just before training camp.

It’s hard to see a more favorable deal being offered at some point, although at this point of the season, no one knows the useful players who could end up on the trading block around mid-season.
