Comedy fans have heralded Jayde Adams after the Bristolian "kept order" during a bizarre incident at a festival in the city. The 2023 Bristol Comedy Garden opened yesterday (June 14) in Queen Square with the Bedminster local on a bill including Phil Wang, Isy Suttle, Fern Brady and Josh Pugh.
However, proceedings took a odd turn as during the evening's entertainment, a power cut occurred, sending the venue into pitch black conditions. Undeterred though, it seemed the comedians lining up to perform on the night decided, in the best showbiz tradition, that the show must go on, much to the delight of fans.
Jayde - who is starring in the Take That-themed film 'Greatest Days' which premieres in London's Leicester Square tonight (June 15) - was singled out for particular praise for how she handled the situation and helped save the day, or rather the evening. One fan - Helly Belly - took to Twitter to applaud the former Strictly Come Dancing star.

Sharing a picture of Jayde midway through a joke, Helly Belly wrote: "Well Jayde Adams was an absolute star last night at Bristol Comedy Garden - keeping us in order there was a power cut. What a night!
"A gig I won't forget - well done Phil Wang for a top set in tough conditions."
Another audience members also praised Jayde and the other comedians on the line-up for their perseverance. Rowan Long wrote: "Had a great time at Comedy Garden last night despite the heat and the power cut!
"Great stuff from Josh Pugh, Isy Suttie, Jayde Adams, Fern Brady and especially Phil Wang for persevering in the dark."
Jayde is set to feature tonight on the red carpet on Leicester Square ahead of the premiere of Greatest Days. The movie, which also stars Aisling Bea, Alice Lowe and Amaka Okafor, is based on the Take That musical which first hit the stage in 2017.
The film's script has been written by Tim Firth, whose other credits including Calendar Girls and Kinky Boots. Bristol University alumni Coky Giedroyc, the older sister of comedian and former Great British Bake Off host Mel, is directing the film.
