Aberdeen have secured the capture of Ajax goalkeeper Jay Gorter on a loan deal until the end of the season.
And he could be thrown straight into action 24 hours later. The 22-year-old has penned a new deal with the Eredivisie champions which will run until 2026 and will now link up with the Dons for the rest of the season. Gorter made the breakthrough at Go Ahead Eagles and will provide instant competition for the Dons with Kelle Roos sidelined and veteran keeper Joe Lewis back between the sticks.
Aberdeen axed Jim Goodwin but have remained active in the transfer market with Mattie Pollock arriving on loan from Watford. And now Gorter will be aiming to make an impact to a side who will be managed by Barry Robson for the first time against St Mirren on Wednesday night.
