Jason Manford leaves Scots café overjoyed with review after praising 'best breakfast'

A Scots café owner has been left lost for words after Jason Manford popped in and left a shining review.

The comedian, 41, was on stage at Falkirk Town Hall on Sunday evening as part of his Like Me standup tour, while being supported by Jo Caulfield.

But it was Monday morning when Jason turned up at The Fork and Mustard on Glebe Street in the town centre after he was less than impressed by the breakfast offerings at his hotel.

Edward McMaster, 57, who owns the small business along with his fiancé Louise McKnight, 55, was blown away by a glowing review left by the funnyman on his Facebook after he praised it as the 'best breakfast'.

Taking to social media, Jason says he had Googled where he could get the 'best breakfast' in Falkirk, and well, he got just that. In fact, it was so good he posted a picture of his full Scottish slap-up scran - which included sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding, haggis, tattie scone, beans and a hash brown - on Facebook.

He posted the image to his 1.3million followers and wrote: "Hotel breakfast was [poo emoji] so Googled ‘Best Breakfast in Falkirk’ and this place came up. Google was right! The Fork and Mustard ".

Responding to the post, the owner said: "Thank you for popping in & for supporting a small business Jason! So glad you enjoyed your breakfast! We’ll hopefully see you next time you’re in Falkirk."

The snap has been liked over 10,000 times, with almost 2,000 comments from his fans, with many of them agreeing.

Cafe owner Edward told the Record: "We're totally overwhelmed by it all. I really can't believe it.

"The funny thing is we are big fans of Jason Manford, but didn't even realise it was him because it was so busy on Monday and myself and Louise were in and out.

"I did say to Louise though 'I recognise that guy's face'. It wasn't until he had left and then I seen his post on Facebook, I realised it was him.

"He was lovely to the staff, a really nice man.

However, Jason Manford isn't the only famous person that's dropped into The Fork and Mustard.

Edward has revealed that a few famous faces have paid a visit.

He added: "We've had Susan Boyle in here before, she popped in for a cup of tea. And then Grado was in once for his breakfast.

"All our food is cooked from scratch, no hot plates. Everything is as fresh as it comes. We're like a wee family, I never say my staff work for me, I say they work with us."

"Hopefully Jason's post will encourage other celebrities to visit us."
