A clearly frustrated Jason Knight dropped an f-bomb on RTE following Ireland's 1-0 loss to Ukraine as he appeared to forget he was on live TV.
The result leaves Stephen Kenny's side bottom of their Nations League group and extends their winless run in the competition to 12 games.
Speaking to RTE's Tony O'Donoghue, the young midfielder said: "First and foremost it’s disappointing, we didn’t want to lose of course but like you said we started well…
"But we need start taking that for a full 90 minutes, and getting the result with it."
Asked about Stephen Kenny's half-time team talk, Knight added: "Yeah, look he was great at half-time but f*** it…sorry.
"We took a sucker punch just after half-time and we need to start better at the start of each half and that’s something only we can improve."
A goal from Viktor Tsygankov condemned Ireland to another bout of Nations League misery.
The Dynamo Kyiv midfielder, who had been introduced as a half-time substitute, caught keeper Caoimhin Kelleher on his heels with a 48th-minute free-kick to claim a 1-0 victory.
